Spring 2023

Samiya Sanctuary's Spring Workshop offered a comprehensive educational experience focused on sustainable agriculture and conservation. Attendees gained valuable insights into creating pollinator-friendly habitats, learning about rainwater harvesting for irrigation and reducing reliance on municipal water sources. The workshop also provided practical skills in seasonal cooking and food preservation, emphasizing the journey of food from farm to table. By engaging with these topics, participants were empowered to contribute to environmental conservation and food sustainability efforts, fostering biodiversity and promoting water conservation practices in their communities.

Planting for Pollinators Workshop

This workshop provided participants with an educational opportunity to understand and implement pollinator-friendly habitats through deliberate plant selection and scalable agricultural design strategies. Attendees gained insights into the importance of native plants in attracting and supporting pollinators essential for ecosystem health. Through practical demonstrations, participants were guided on effective planting techniques, thoughtful design layout considerations, and sustainable maintenance practices aimed at optimizing pollinator diversity and abundance within their respective environments.

Rainwater Harvesting and Grey Water Systems
